My SJSU Graduation Party!

I graduated San Jose State University in December 2011, and participated in commencement in May of 2012. When we decided to have a graduation party I wanted to use the colors of my new Alma mater in a tasteful and creative way, for those of you who don't know SJSU's colors are yellow, blue and white so I decided to utilize sunflowers and white blupernum and wrap my vases in a royal blue ribbon. The party was filled with close friends and family, mason jars filled with floating candles, handmade banners, polka-dot balloons, good food, good wine and a dessert table decorated with books from my studies. Take a look!

I handmade the "Sweet" banner for the dessert table.
And, in order to add a variation in height I selected my favorite books
from my history studies and incorporated them.
This not only added charm, but it also made a wonderful conversation starter.

Here is a close up of the centerpieces, which utilized sunflowers, blupernum, and a deep blue ribbon tied around the vase to pull all SJSU colors together in a classy way.

Here is another handmade banner.
This made a wonderful backdrop for pictures with friends and family!

Graduating college is a very special accomplishment in my life,
and this party was the memorable cherry to top off all of the blood,
sweat and tears that went into earning a diploma!
